What is the year of construction of my house?

Are slippers a must-have in your house due to the cold floor? Floor insulation quickly provides a comfortable feeling. under your ground floor. This is where you spend most of your time and will experience the most discomfort from cold from below. Insulating from the crawl space is quite easy if you have a crawl space higher than 50 cm. Flexible insulation materials such as wood wool insulation can be easily clamped between the floor joists. Please note that any moisture problems in the crawl space must first be resolved.

Install roof insulation. Heat rises. An average house loses most heat through the roof. If your wooden sub-roof is still visible, chances are your roof is not insulated. It is then relatively easy to install flexible insulation mats and clamp them between a new wooden sub-construction. There is a good chance that you can keep any beautiful roof beams visible.
Install facade insulation. Before insulating, any moisture problems must first be resolved. It is often not possible to insulate from the outside, so the inside is the only solution. The advantage of this is that for the finishing, you can choose natural and healthy materials such as clay plaster without harmful substances, which also accumulate moisture and heat.

My house already has partial insulation: what should I do about it?

It is possible that a previous occupant invested in roof insulation, floor insulation, facade insulation and double glazing. The effectiveness and thickness of any existing insulation material must be checked. A good indicator that the insulation is not yet sufficient everywhere in your house is if you still experience discomfort from cold feet, draughts and cold in general.
