The vapour diffusion resistance (µ) indicates the extent to which a material allows water vapour to pass through. The lower the vapour diffusion resistance, the more vapour open the material and the less resistance the water vapour will experience in passing through the material. In that case, the material transports moisture to the side with the lowest vapour pressure.
